NINGO's Strategic Partnership for National Transformation Held in Rwanda

Leadership from the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) Ciheb Rwanda attended the Network of International Non-Governmental Organizations (NINGO) forum meeting on the 15th of November at the Kigali Convention Center. The conference, held by the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) in collaboration with NINGO, had representatives from over 180 international non-governmental organizations in attendance.

Under the theme: “Strategic Partnership for National Transformation”, the conference focused on the following topics:  

• NINGO updates as part of its Annual General Assembly meeting.
• Update on national commitments on the Anti-Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism standards and upcoming mutual evaluation on Rwanda. 
• Update on the development of the e-Imiryango online system, which shall serve as an online reporting, monitoring and evaluation and NINGO certificate renewal portal. 

The meeting also touched on national commitments of the Anti-Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism standards and upcoming mutual evaluation on Rwanda.

NINGO forum reiterated their commitment to contribute to a strategic partnership for national transformation, the Rwanda transformation process, its acceleration, and the Rwanda Vision 2050. “All INGOs operating in Rwanda should come together and engaging in strategic partnerships that accelerate national transformation,” said William Mutero, NINGO Rwanda Chairperson.

INGOs (International Non-Governmental Organizations) play a crucial role in accelerating national transformation, knowledge transfer, and progress sustainability across various fields. Varsha Redkar, deputy representative for UNDP Rwanda, reiterated, “Working with local CSOs provides a stable foundation for sustainable development and true localization.” UMB’s Ciheb Rwanda remains committed to productive partnerships and improving the human condition for all Rwandans.
